Kansas City Races

Fun Weekend in Kansas - Thanks to Dan Grubbs - Canoe & Kayak Racing Magazine Editor for organising the event and hosting the OKC Team in his home.

Saturday races where 500m, 200m Sprints and on Sunday we raced twice. 1st up was a 5 mile race with a portage in the middle. Then a 7.5 mile race.

Kaitlyn MeElroy won the 500m and 5 mile race. Shaun, won the 200m and 7.5mile race. Dylan Pucket was 4th in the 500m, 3rd in the 200m, 4th in the 5mile and 7.5mile races. We all had fun during the weekend. See the update below on Dans facebook page.


Mad props to the head coach of the Oklahoma Boathouse high performance program, Shaun Caven, for speaking to a couple of dozen paddlers in Kansas City this weekend. Thanks Shaun for helping spread the great news about paddling, training and technique. We're hopeful it will generate more interest here in our neck of t...he woods.
